Introduction to Avid Editing
OS101 (Introduction to Mac OS X), or Windows Operating System course, or equivalent experience.
A background in editing, production, or post-production. (recommended)
Moviola’s comprehensive Introduction to Avid Editing course is designed for both the novice (no familiarity with the Avid system is necessary) as well as those who have some experience using the Avid Media Composer, Avid Xpress Pro or Avid Symphony system.
Though this is an introductory course, it provides the essential foundation of concepts, tools and procedures of the system on both the Macintosh and Windows platforms.
Class time is divided between demonstrations by the instructor followed by hands-on practice exercises, with ample time for experimentation using both Standard Definition (SD) and High Definition (HD) footage.

- Additional topics include numerous tips and tricks, “J-K-L” functionality, the "SuperBin" feature, Sub-clipping/Sub-Sequencing, Timeline and Bin Views, interface and keyboard customization, Sync-Locks, video resolutions, Locators, Audio Scrubbing and Soloing, Project Backup and User Settings.
