RGB

Overview

RGB refers to the red, green, blue additive color model used by television and computers. This color model works by adding red, green and blue lights in different intensities and amounts to reproduce a wide array of colors. It also mirrors the human perceptual system, where the eye’s sensors are specifically tuned to receive light in the red, green and blue portions of the spectrum. This is in contrast to the CMYK color model, which is subtractive and mainly used in print.
