  • DESCRIPTION
    Media Composer Fundamentals II is an intermediate course designed to teach students the technical and organization skills of an assistant editor and develop their editorial skills with the tools and techniques required to produce as well-edited video. From using dynamic trim techniques to shape the actor's performances in a dramatic scene, to quickly assembling a news package to meet deadlines, this course empowers novice users to take their Media Composer skills to the next level.

    Class projects and exercises are hands-on, giving students the opportunity to work on an unscripted documentary project, as well as a scripted comedy scene.
    • Create custom project sizes, including larger than HD (2K, 4K, etc)
    • Understand the operational implications of working in larger-than-HD projects
    • Quickly assemble a scene using storyboard editing
    • Solve common image problems with effects to stabilize the image, blur faces and logos, and erase unwanted jump cuts
    • Selectively delete unwanted render files to keep the media drives clutter-free
    • Understand how to correctly backup project files and associated media files
    • Identify and adjust common Settings to increase efficiency and avoid complications
    • Output the finished program according to common broadcast delivery standards

    Who Should Attend

    Editors, Post Production Supervisors, Post Production Professionals, Producers, Directors, and anyone else interested in learning Avid's capabilities.

    Prerequisites

    MC101 (v8.6) Media Composer Fundamentals I, or equivalent experience. Mac and/or Windows OS experience is suggested. A background in editing, production, or post-production is recommended as well.

    Cancellation/Refund Policy

    Moviola Education Center reserves the right to cancel any course at anytime for any reason, however, cancellations are usually made no less than 72 hours prior to the course start date. In the event of a cancellation by Moviola Education Center, students have the option of being rescheduled for another course date or receiving a full refund.

    Students may cancel their enrollment in any course by providing notice to Moviola Education Center. The student has the right to cancel the enrollment agreement and obtain a refund of charges paid through attendance at the first class session, or the seventh day after enrollment, whichever is later.

    Refunds for PayPal or credit card will be subject to a 2% fee.
