Buffalo Sabres French Connection Rookie Lot. 1970 Gil Perreault Rookie #131 graded 5. 1st player drafted in the 1970 draft. 1971 Richard Martin Rookie graded 8. Although he scored 44 goals in 1971, his card shows not in NHL, which would make his 1972 his Rookie which some consider. That's why his 1972 #157 graded 7 is included, 1972 Rene Robert Rookie #161 graded 8. Perreault ranks 33rd all time in NHL scoring. Robert ranks 241st and Martin ranks 243. All 3 are in NHL HOF and were 1 of the most prolific and dominant lines in NHL history. The French Connection line ranks 7th in NHL history
