1977 Mint, Unused, stored in original box for 50 years os so, entirely German edition by Pop artist Tapio Wirkkala, of a 6 1/8” tall, and 4 1/8” by 2 5/8” width Pop Art take on “tromp l’oeil,” something that is not what it appears to be. This appears to be a crinkled brown paper bag. But it’s really a ceramic, porcelain vase. Kraft Brown Paper with a serrated top edge. This is the original of the Rosenthal series of whimsical ceramic paper bags designed by Finnish artist Wirkkala. In America in the 1980’s and 90’s, later series of this, labeled the Rosenthal “Studio Line” were nicknamed “The Do Not Litter” bag, mimicking advertising then about having a bag in your car to collect litter instead of throwing it out of the car window. This 1977 First Edition Tutenvase was sold in Europe before it came to America. This entire box is in German (no English). The brown “Rosenthal” Stamping on the vase’s bottom is particular to the first edition. The paper “KONTROLLSTELLE 1” sticker adds value
