First edition (UK), second impression hardcover copy of Titus Groan by Mervyn Peake (Eyre & Spottiswoode, 1946). The first volume in the iconic gothic fantasy series, Gormenghast. Jacket is protected in mylar sleeve but with some tanning, chipping around the edges and liquid stain to back cover, mostly visible only on the interior side. Boards moderately soiled from liquid exposure with corners and spine ends bumped and fraying in places. Binding remains firm and spine is straight. All pages are clean and unmarked though tanned.
