Robert Lawson / The Great Wheel 1st Edition 1951.
First edition of this final children's book from Lawson, author of Rabbit Hill. The Great Wheel was published a few months after his death, and the copyright page is corrected to show his estate now holding the rights. The book went on to win a Newbery Honor the next year. This, a nicely preserved copy, is uncommon thus. 8vo, 188pp. Green cloth with stamped illustration of a ferris wheel and star, top edge stained turquoise. Beautiful, fine copy in like jacket with only a hint of rubbing to extremities. Original price of 3.00 in tact.
The only issue with this book is the dust jacket. There is some wear and tear to it; but the book itself is in “like new” condition. Pages are crisp and clean, unmarked. Binding is very tight and all pages are intact. Please see photos for details and condition.
