Very rare, extra large sized (over 2 1/2 pounds!), glassy specimen of high quality and fully natural smoky quartz from the French Alps (Haute-Savoie, Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes, France). A one of a kind, French Alps statement piece that’s never seen in this size! The huge, gemmy cluster of the famous smokies features a giant, elongated, lustrous, double terminated quartz crystal enjoined with a smaller point in parallel growth. The quartz have incredible clarity and a glowing translucent golden smokey hue with internal phantoms and dozens of rainbows that sparkle in the light. Both crystals have beautiful terminated top ends with fully etched / recrystallized bottom ends. The sculptural raw gemstone has ideal color, clarity and translucency. A perfect, fine mineral decor display specimen that measures approx 7.5 inches long, 4.5 inches at the widest point, and weighs just over 2 pounds, 8 ounces.
