Circa 1900s-1920s
Unique Arts & Crafts period high school brooch with a beautiful sterling design over bronze
A high school motto is in the center, possibly from Joliet Township High School, and says Nihil Sine Labore JTHS MDCCCLXXIX (roughly translates to Nothing Without Work JTHS 1879)
***Likely manufactured by the Heintz Art Metal Shop of New York, circa 1903-1930. Many of these pieces were unsigned but the craftsmanship and style are unmistakable.

*Very light scuffs/ some patina, including the original brown patina placed on the bronze by the manufacturer
