This lovely dish is the perfect size for side dishes. It is 6 long by 5.5 wide and about 2.75 deep. The dish is hand painted displaying a beautiful floral bouquet. It has a gilded rim, handles and feet.

What makes this rare -

This piece is marked with the Noritake M . This is known as the Noritake Maruki (often called Komaru) Mark, the M (for Morimura) Wreath Mark. The Mark also includes Nippon and made in Japan.
Between 1890 and 1921 the company marked their export China with 'Nippon' in western characters. These Nippon marks can date pieces to the 1890 to 1921 period, before the McKinley Tariff act demanded 'Japan' was used.

After the first World War all Noritake production was marked 'Japan' or 'Made in Japan' to comply with the McKinley Tariff Act, and Nippon was only very rarely used after 1921.

The condition is very good considering its age with no chips, cracks or scratches.

Thanks for visiting and enjoy!
