Kenneth Jay Lane was one of the great, costume jewelry designers of the 20th century. He was originally, a shoe designer for Christian Dior. He later became a costume jewelry designer in 1963 and was a darling of famous people such as actress Elizabeth Taylor, Audrey Hepburn, First Lady Jackie Kennedy Onassis and the Duchess of Windsor. He was known for his Fabulous Fakes referring to his rich looking costume jewelry pieces and copies of famous, high-end luxury jewelry designs.
