This offering is for 4 vintage Bread & Butter plates crafted by Blue Ridge Southern Potteries (BRSP). This retired pattern (Replacements BRP168) features pink and black flowers on white stoneware. BRSP produced in the USA from the 1930s until 1957 when it shut down due to the popularity of plastic dinnerware. These collectible plates feature hand painted underglaze, so no two are exactly alike. The pattern is called Cherokee Rose, per the National Blue Ridge Pottery Club.
The plates show no chips, cracks, repairs, slight bottom wear, very light utensil marks, and no crazing. Anomalies that are typically associated with the manufacturing process. (E.g., glaze bumps/runs, variations in glaze depth, etc.) may be present.
The plates measure 6 3/8” with height of about 5/8”. They would work nicely in a unique mix-and-match set, added to a Cherokee Rose collection, or used as replacement pieces. Imagine just how lovely this lovely uninhibited pattern would look on your table.
