This decanter with its original cork stopper was made in 1968 and is part of an Americana Series. It is by Lawrence H. Sutcher for the J. W. Dant Company. This item is in excellent shape for its age with no chips or cracks on the decanter. (It even has an intact State of Florida Liquor Tax Sticker.

The scene depicted on the decanter is of The Boston Tea Party. At this time, the American Colonies were part of the British Empire and subject to them in most every way imaginable. While American exports were undervalued in Great Britain, imports to the Colonies were overvalued. When a shipload of tea arrived in Boston, rather than pay the import taxes demanded, colonists dressed up as Native Americans stormed the ship and dumped all of the tea into Boston Harbor. This and other actions eventually coalesced into full rebellion. (The Revolutionary War).

The decanter is ca. 6 x 4.5 x 2.5 inches (Decanter area) The neck of the decanter adds ca 1 inch extra. The Stopper is ca. 3 by 2 inches.
