Artesanías “Tahuantinsuyo” Wall tapestry 50% Wool / 50% Cotton Made in Ecuador Handmade. Colorful and lovely. Four women and baskets. Acquired at an estate sale. The age is unclear, this piece is beautiful! 32” wide and 22” tall, weighs 11 ounces. Colors remain vibrant, hems and edges in great shape. It’s beautiful.
Tahuantinsuyo is a word from Quechua (native language of the Andes) and was born from the fusion of 2 terms: tahua, which means “four”, and suyo, which means “region”. The name mainly referred to the four regions in which the empire was divided. The visible companionship of these women is lovely.
