Miller Studios Inc. VTG MCM 1969 Set of Two Tropical Colored Chalkware Plaques
This listing includes two chalkware plaques, both with tropical birds on the front. The first bird is green & blue with a bit of orange on its tail. The second is yellow and blue. Both have foliage that is gold painted and a textured black background. These beautiful pieces have impressions on the sides identifying them as Miller Studios Inc. and the date 1969, so a true vintage, mid-century modern piece. These plaques are made of chalkware which is fragile but despite this both plaques are in very good condition. There are various tiny nicks in the paint or light paint loss but no breaks or large chips are noted. These plaques originally had metal hanging hardware embedded, however, they appear to have rusted off or broken, leaving the plaques unable to hang until repaired. They are somewhat oval in shape and measure 8.5 X5.5 X0.5 each.
