The Jews of Poland: Their political, economic, social and communal life in the sixteenth century as reflected in the works of Rabbi Moses Isserls
1944 hardcover book written by Rev M.S. Lew and published in London, England. This 192-page book focuses on the Polish Jewish population at the time of the Holocaust. Judaica topics provide insights into the Jewish community in Poland. It offers a unique perspective on the religious and historical aspects of Judaism in that region. The wildest thing about this book is that it's a history of Jews in Poland that was published in 1944. Even the author comments on the ongoing war and how weird it is to be writing a book during it, as the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising just happened. Anyway, Lew uses the writings of Isserls and his contemporaries to reconstruct life in 16th century Poland. He does some interesting historical work in this very scarce book.
In excellent condition, no rips, tight binding, slight pencil writing on the inside page, no dust c
