First edition, first printing trade paperback copy of Alphabet City by Geoffrey Biddle (University of California Press, 1992). With introduction by Miguel Algarín. A unique photography study where Biddle photographs and interviews residents of the infamous New York City neighborhood, Alphabet City. He first captured the lives of several Puerto Ricans who lived in this ghetto in 1977, and repeated his process ten years later and interviewed his subjects. A stunning view on inner city life in this infamous neighborhood.
Some rubbing/scuffing to covers and shelf wear around the edges - including bumped corners and small tear to top edge of back cover. Text block and both covers faintly wavy, likely due to improper storage. Binding glue is visible in gutters between text block and covers, with spine slightly cocked, though binding remains strong on the whole. All pages clean and unmarked. See photos for condition. Packaged with care and shipped via USPS Media Mail
