5 Vintage Johann Seltmann Vohenstrauss Bavaria Dessert/Salad Plates - Rare Find

These difficult to find porcelain plates from Vohenstrauss Johann Seltmann depict various Bavarian woodland wildlife. A little investigation found that the maker mark on the back was used beginning around 1965; however, production in Vohenstrauss was discontinued in 1996, so the plates must have been produced sometime between those dates. The plates are rimmed with gold trim. There are no chips, cracks, or repairs. They are in nice condition with possibly a few difficult to notice wear marks on the gold trim. The portion of the designs representing the sky background areas appear to have some possible utensil scratches, but perplexingly they only seem to be obvious in sky areas and nowhere else in the design, which leads to the possibility that they were part of the original design (or possible crazing?). These plates could be used to complete a set or become part of a mix-and-match. They would make beautiful display plates for a gift.

The plates have diameter of about 7-5/8 inches.
