This gently used hardback novel by Joseph Warren Lippincott (1887-1976) is a 1st Edition hardback in good condition. Lippincott, son of the founder of J. B. Lippincott Publishing and himself for many years President of the Company, was a traveler and nature enthusiast who wrote many non-fiction and fictional books about wildlife, including The Wolf King, a thrilling biography of a giant black wolf that became legendary in Alberta. Lippincott wove into the story many folktales and much Wolf lore. The book is illustrated by the drawings of Paul Bransom (1885-1979), the famed artist who was often called the dean of animal artists. This is a collectable quality very rare book, missing the dust jacket but otherwise in good condition with tight binding and clean unmarked pages. Smoke free home. See photos carefully.
