Unusual sculpture featuring children riding an ear of corn. The children appear to be Chinese. Such a strange, kitschy scene! Blanc de chine style, stark white porcelain with a shiny glaze. Such a unique piece! It has a foil paper label on the underside; while torn, it provides evidence that this piece was made by Maitland Smith. I do not know the name of this piece, but it is certainly retired. This figurine stands an impressive 7 tall and 10 wide.
No chips. A few dark brown specs which appear to be underneath the glaze/a result of the manufacturing process. Also one crack about 1/2 long (see photo #10). Still displays well!
It will be shipped double boxed for its protection.
