We were not satisfied with starting from a custom-made fabric, so we started with the choice and blend of short cotton fibers that make up the yarn, and we took on the original yarn spinning process to create the weft yarn used in Nigel Cabourn's staple shirt, the British Officers Shirt. This shirt takes about 6 months to produce from start to finish. In other words, 2 months for yarn making, 2 months for fabric, and 2 months for the product. If we were to buy ready-made fabric from a fabric store and make a product, it would take about 2 weeks at the fastest. Even so, we have never changed this manufacturing method since we first started making this staple shirt. We pour our heart and soul into this seemingly ordinary Oxford shirt.
