An intriguing hinged pendant with a modernist/abstract look that's certainly not cookie cutter in design. The mother-of pearl is luminous and flares with pink, lavender, green and aqua colors as the light plays over the surface of the shell. The play of color makes me think of the Aurora Borealis, but softer. The pendant is accented by three faceted amethyst cabs, which are set in plain bezels and the settings are open to the back, allowing light to filter through and has a large bale that will accommodate a variety of chains or beads. It measures 2 11/16 long from the top of the bale and is 1 1/2 at the widest point. The bale has an interior opening of 3/8 x 1/4 . Marked on the reverse AF 925 and weighs 13.5 grams. In very nice pre-owned condition.
