I love to research jewelry that I am not that familiar with originally because I love to learn about the history and other cultures.
I looked up Batik Bones and learned they originate from Ghanian and Kenyan tribes and the process of creating these beads dates back to the 4th century B.C.E Egypt!!!! That's pretty amazing to me. The process can be looked up online.
The hook on this necklace tells people this necklace is extremely old and one similar I found online was dated to the Byzantine empire.
I don't guarantee the age, but my research tells me this necklace is an antique. These necklaces were usually created for higher classes within the tribes.
I looked up people online alive during the 4th century in Egypt at that time and it mentioned Nubians, Macedonians, and Ptolemaics. Again, I'm not sure this particular item is that old, but the process of creating Batik bone beads is.
