GOOSEPILE
NEW YORK, N.Y.--Dixie Walker, (#11), runs to join the scrap between Brooklyn Dodgers and St. Louis Cardinals, who are tangled up in a goosepile at right. Scrap occurred in 6th inning of game at Ebbetts Field, when Ducky Medwick, of the Dodgers slid high into second and was tagged by Martin Marion, of the Cards. When Medwick got to his feet, the two men went at it and soon players from bench and field joined in. Walker sustained body injuries and left the game. Watching the battle, (Photo above are Hubert Lanier, (left), and Martin Marion, who started in the original fight. On top of the pile, George Kurowski, of the Cards, shoves Dodger Dolph Camilli, (#4), who is on top of Johnny Hopp, (#12), of the Cards. Kneeling under Camilli, is Frank Crespi, of the Cards, and way down at the bottom of the pile is Ducky Medwick.
