A large striking, vintage, Hungarian Folk Art wall pottery plate with intricate hand-painted decoration in earthy browns, yellows, greens, creams and terracotta hues of traditional flowers all along the border. It has a scalloped edging as well as a center medallion and a hanging hole in back. It’s a stunning example of Hungarian art. There is a Hungary stamp on the back and the letter “p.”
Hungary has a strong ceramics tradition of both rustic, folk pieces such as this and heritage, fine porcelain brands such as Herend as well as Hollóháza and Zsolnay.
