This is a very unique beige felt hat from the 1940s'. The round crown is surrounded by a wide brim which is upturned on one side, and then it is folded towards the back, as seen in the photos. There are beautiful burgundy colored ostrich feathers, plus a matching grosgrain trim. The wartime 40’s saw a huge variety of hats that were suitable for any face shape, hairstyle or personal preference. Throughout the war & on both sides of the Atlantic, elaborate creations brightened dreary utility fashions, brought about by rationing. The only items not rationed were hat materials. Explosions of feathers, veiling & artificial flowers were popular. Label: PATRICE modelThis is an authentic piece of fashion history!
