SOPHISTICATED TAUPE FELT & MOUTON FUR HALO HAT + GROSGRAIN TRIM & VEIL

This beautiful small taupe felt hat is an outstanding creation from the fabulous fashions of the 1940s'! The crown is small and ends in a point at the back. There is a half upturned brim covered in gray mouton fur, which has yellowed with age, but still looks most elegant! It creates a "halo" effect. There are two creatively folded bands of matching grosgrain at each side behind the brim. There is a veil of the same color as the hat which is tucked behind the brim due to some breaks, and it adds elegance to the hat. There is an elastic band attached to the hat to hold it in place. The wartime 40’s saw a huge variety of hats that were suitable for any face shape, hairstyle or personal preference. Throughout the war & on both sides of the Atlantic, elaborate creations brightened dreary utility fashions, brought about by rationing. The only items not rationed were hat materials. Explosions of feathers, furs, veiling & artificial flowers were popular. Label: EFENESS ModesThis is an authentic piece of fashion history!
