During the 20th century, the U.S. Mint introduced three Half Dollar coins – Walking Liberty, Franklin, and Kennedy Half Dollars – and this collection features all three coins that were made in 90% silver. All coins are over half a century old. All three coins were struck for circulation in 90% silver, a level of precious metal that has not been seen in circulation for generations. Most 90% silver coins have already been melted for the silver, leaving few for collectors. It’s increasingly hard to find even one of these coins, let alone all three in a single collection. The Walking Liberty Half Dollar was struck by the U.S. Mint from 1916-1947. The Franklin Half Dollar was issued 1948-1963 to honor Benjamin Franklin, the legendary colonial patriot, inventor, and statesman. The Kennedy Half Dollar was first issued as a memorial coin shortly after the assassination of President John F. Ken
