1940's Vintage Mexico Sterling Silver Seahorse Screwback Earrings Side by sideFor Non-pierced ears wearable by all!It seems general consensus that this particular earring design hails from circa 1940's and I'll jump on the bandwagon in agreement. Hand crafted (this is why each separate piece will show minor differences)Marked 'MEXICO SILVER' This mark was used in Mexico from the 1920's to the mid 40's prior to the implementation of the eagle mark. These pieces were often crafted with a higher level of silver purity than 925. 950 and 980 being common. I performed a JSP Acid test on these earrings (out of curiosity for the most part) and they definitely strongly test positive for silver! I'd venture to guess they are a higher purity than 92.5%*I have 2 pairs of Mexican Silver Seahorse earrings listed (unless sold of course) These ones are significantly larger than the other ones, and have a warmer patina. I am including a size comparison photo in listing if you are interested, but undecided.Concidering age, these earrings are in beautiful condition. They obviously do show wear, and patina.Please see photos/video for best description, condition, and measurements. *Photos may have been enlarged to show detail, and I encourage you to enlarge them even more.
