Antique 1856 French Gilded Cartonnage Book Decorative Gilt Romantic Cardboard

A rare, antique French book from 1856.Very pretty & collectible example of 19th century ornate decorative paper binding from France.A gilded cartonnage book with a solid binding. Turquoise blue decorative cover with gold gilt trim decoration.The cover does show wear and fading. Some may be cleaned off but I will leave that to its new owner. The corners show wear with the front upper right corner showing the most.The center front has a window cutout with a color lithograph print of the captain, his men and flags.This is the books crowning glory! The colors are still vibrant and beautiful.The spine is faded & has a piece missing near the bottom. There is a water spot that goes throughout the book but fades as it goes.
