34mm/1.34”/2.08oz Recently discovered Ice Blue Glacierite Sphere from Indonesia. A beautiful & unique byproduct of industrial processing (slag), it’s an incredibly hard Beta-Aluminate ceramic like its distant chemically related cousin, sapphire. The blue comes from trace elements of Cobalt & Vanadium. Its reminds me a lot of a scolcite sphere w/ the look of compressed sticks of material, just not chatoyant like a scolcite sphere. The blue is mostly saturated on 1 side w/ streaks smearing out from that area. Like it was hit w/ a paintball! Little natural caves & crevices here & there. Comes w/ ID/locale tag & wooden tripod stand
