This is an extremely rare showstopper of a jacket! I purchased this at an antique shop in Santa Fe, NM, in about 1990. I was told it dated from the mid-late 1970's.Gorgeous handmade jacket from the Hmong native hill tribe in Thailand, would fit a ladies size L/XL or about a mans size M. Coarsely woven hemp fabric on one side and finer woven cotton on the other. Traditional Mandarin style jacket with a standing band collar, single breasted with metal coin/loop closures at the front. Reversible, so two jackets in one! One side has colorful hand-embroidered patchwork with an ornate hot pink "fin" at the back; the other side a bit more subdued with red cross stitched shoulders, yoke, cuffs, and pocket trim. Built in shoulder pads.Measures about 25 inches across at the underarms, 26 inch sleeve length (not cuffed/folded), and about 30 inches total length at the center back collar base to the bottom hem edge.In excellent condition, missing one coin "button" at the top front as shown. Comes to you freshly hand-washed.My home is smoke free.
