This set comprises a cake platter, a cake server, and 12 stunning cake plates manufactured by the esteemed Taylor, Smith, Taylor Company, based in the U.S.A. Each plate showcases the captivating design “Lady in the Garden” and is beautifully accentuated with intricate 22k gold trim
The plates have both a Taylor Smith Taylor makers mark and an Eastern China 22k gold makers mark. This refers to Eastern China doing the gold trim on the Taylor Smith Taylor plate.
This set was my great-grandmother's. Upon her death in the '60s, my dad acquired it, as he had fond memories of it as a child (born in 1930). After my dad died in 2000 I took the set - and it has remained boxed for 24 years. Now I am 62 and am downsizing my possessions. This set is fully complete, in excellent condition, and has no chips or scratches.
I've done my research and to have a Taylor Smith Taylor complete set including a cake cutter is a rare find. Maker's Mark has this set as dated 1941.
