~Cameos like this were commonly made between the 1910s-1930s, and this one has withstood the test of time. Its large, carved shell features a gorgeous profile, with intricate details in her hair and dress. ~This cameo is unique and unusual with the imbedded pearl necklace- a term that is called a habille cameo.
~I have not polished or cleaned this- due to its age, I didn't want to damage the pearls or the shell. They are firmly placed and none are missing. Not sure if they are real pearls- but this is definitely a well-made and constructed brooch.
