Circa 1830's to 1840's.A finely carved Bacchante maiden in Mediterranean red coral set on top of black jet, the setting is 14 kt rolled gold over brass.The bottom of the ornate filigree frame has a swivel with 3 drops, two diamond shaped pieces of brass also rolled in 14 kt gold(10 mm's by 3 mm's) and a red coral drop in the center(6 mm's by 4 mm's).The hand carved red coral cameo measures 15 mm's by 10 mm's, the oval jet background measures 25 mm's by 19 mm's.This great and rare pin measures 2 1/2" by 1 1/4".Perfect condition with no chips or cracks, light scratches as expected with the age.
