Rare, Silver, French Patriotic, Antique, WWI Era Medal Slide Locket commemorating Commander-in-Chief, GENERAL JOSEPH JACQUES CESAIRE JOFFRE.
Measuring 1 3/16 with bail x 1 x 3/16 deep, this unique military locket is composed of lightweight silver metal.
Front of locket has a repousse effigy of General Joffre, the dates 1914 - 1915, with a Laurel Leaf and Oak Leaf border.
Locket slides apart to reveal an intact photo frame.

Extremely Fine Antique Condition. Minute gap between top and bottom of locket. Patina on back. Polish to satisfaction.
