A native of Cecil County MD, Geraldine McKeown grew up on the family farm surrounded by land that has been in her family for 7 generations. The beauty of the country landscape and the old farm buildings, rich with character, had a strong influence on her. An artist since childhood, her paintings reflect a deep sense of this heritage and her love of the rural architecture and landscape.
An accomplished artist working in watercolor and oil in the style of traditional realism, her paintings reveal an emphasis on design and composition and the interplay of light and shadow. She has been the recipient of numerous regional and national awards and has achieved signature membership in the Baltimore (BWS), Philadelphia (PWCS), Pennsylvania (PWS) and National (NWS) Watercolor Societies.
