Scarce EP of THE BEATLES’ Decca Session songs: Hello Little Girl / Three Cool Cats / Loved You of The Loved / Memphis recorded January 1st 1962 in London. John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Pete Best as The Beatles recorded 15 tracks at the Decca studios for their first English record company audition. This is one of a series of unofficial singles that came out on vinyl with picture sleeves. Two of the songs are Lennon/McCartney originals. Memphis is a Chuck Berry cover. Three Cool Cats is a Lieber-Stoller compostion.
Great color picture sleeve with Ringo Starr, who was not yet in the band, and not on the recordings.
Released in 1978 on the Beacon label by Rick Manzi in association with NY’s Left Bank rock nightclub. Very limited vinyl pressing. It is estimated that only 100 were pressed on this orangish label, whereas a black label printing had a larger run.
