A little piece of perfume history spanning the 1920s-1980s. The box contains 8 sealed, color-coded nips/bottlettes of famous name perfumes of the day. There are 2 missing, which I have detailed below and in the photos. Two of the colors are yellow & gold, and I *believe* the missing one is yellow, not gold, you can see the color for yourself and decided which you think it is. I think the gold is still there, and not the yellow, but be aware that the reverse may be the case. These would likely be post-1950s/pre-1986, it's anyone's guess!Photo 1, box, instructions & all 8 nipsPhotos 2-3, each nip aligned with its corresponding color & the 2 missing:-Green=Emeraude by Coty-Light Blue=Intoxication by D'Orsay-Pink=Shocking by SchiaparellixYellow LIKELY MISSING (Fleurs d'Amour by Roger & Gallet)-Silver=Black Satin by Angelique-Blue=Evening in Paris by BourjoisxPurple MISSING (Devastating by Anjou)-Gold=Folie de minuit by Lanier LIKELY ENCLOSED-Red=Silent Night by Countess Maritza-White=White Lilac by Mary ChessPhoto 4, fold-out w/instructions in the boxPhotos 5-6, top & bottom of box, in this case, issued by Union Pacific RailroadPhoto 7, nips in boxPhotos 8-9, article detailing when this concept really took off in the 1950sPhotos 10-16, articles & trademark/registration info showing that these really began appearing in the 1920s, with the trademark ultimately canceled in 1986There are a couple great blogs on Nips for more info
