MCM Thistledown Fused Square Art Glass Dish by Artists Michael & Frances Higgins. Circa 1957-65 USA.
This beautiful Display Dish is executed in the fused glass technique designed by Michael & Frances Higgins. It was manufactured in mid-century by the Higgins Glass Studio in the pale green glass with stylized white and yellow AMOEBA Thistle Down flower. This gorgeous art play of colors also has gold fused inclusions. Higgins’ signature is in gold script on the corner surface.
The Higgins Studio was founded in 1948 & continues today under new guidance. Home Higgins glass pieces are included in collections at The Metropolitan, The Smithsonian and The Corning Glass Museum. Excellent condition.
