Marion Crossing the Peedee is a painting by American artist William Tylee Ranney. It depicts Brigadier General Francis Marion, known as the Swamp Fox, and his band of mounted irregulars harassing British troops in South Carolina from a hidden base on swampy Snow Island in the Pee Dee (Pedee) River. The painting also shows a Black man, identified as Oscar Marion, the general's enslaved attendant, rowing a barge across the Peedee River.
