FOUNDER'S DAY

Designed by Steven Saylor to honor Dayton Nevada's oldest settlement's 150th birthday.

One hundred and fifty one ounce .999 silver medallions were struck on the historic Carson City Mint press. The back of the medallion is struck with the Mint's logo.

This commission to design the Founder's Day medallion celebrates the 150th anniversary of Nevada's first settlement, Dayton Nevada. Gold was discovered in Dayton's Gold Canyon located just next to my studio in 1849.

The image shown here has the background in black, actually silver, so you can see the quality of the detail. They were struck on the historic Carson City Mint Coin Press and bare the cc mark, featured on the back.

It is a limited edition minted of one hundred silver medallions in protective clear case and commemorative envelope.
