AFTERMARKET parts. Work better then OEM!
The original types can be either brittle plastic type or Metal type - Both are interchanging and often break with lack of oil changes causing dirty oil to clogg the oil port in the cam adjuster thus causing these rings to overheat and either break or cause grooves in the metal cam adjuster. This failure will cause the MIL (Check Engine Light) to turn on and/or the oil pressure light to illuminate.
If you are replacing the camshaft due to the FSI pump failure, Replace these during the job.You'd save you self a headache, time and money!
