We have many NAHLER fine studio art pottery pieces in our collection.Barbara Nahler was a well known Detroit designer. Her artwork was often shown at the Coach House Gallery.This piece matches several other NAHLER pieces that are listed in our Etsy Shop.This one of a kind handmade ceramic pottery was purchased from theCoach House Gallery that was on Van Dyke Place in Indian Village,Detroit, Michigan in the early 1970’s.Nona Herzog owned the gallery.Nona was very active and involved with local artists as well asthe Scarab Club downtown. The local artists were many….Johanna Haas, NAHLER, Bill Evans, Karen Carter,Mary Lark,Chars Herzog III to name a few. Her gallery also had artists from around the world come and display their art such as Vagh, Miele,and many more.It is one of a kind and is just spectacular.So unique in it's construction and how it was glazed. 5" Tall.The vessel with lid is beautifully glazed in deep browns, bronze and beige.The ceramic on the outside is heavily glazed in a browns to light brown glaze.Glazed inside and outside. On the sides of the vesselthere is an embellishment of three "puckering" round circles The very bottom is not glazed.The lid fits perfectly.Approx. 5 1/2" wide with the handle/knob is 1 1/4" tall.
