Just swimming alongside these élégant creatures is glorious… And, Can’t begin to describe, the truly extraordinary, & YES, totally unexpected experience that occurred about 10 minutes into the swim. Simply feeling glad to be swimming with them & wanting some photos, I was vertical & paused to use my underwater camera. From out of nowhere, a baby (huge, oh my gosh!) started swimming directly toward me!Not sure what was happening, I stretched out my leg’s as far as possible, (picture a Chinese splits, executed upright in the sea) and WoW ~ the young ray swam right between them, then off at an angle, to my right.This took my breath away & seemed unbelievable.BUT then, another swam directly toward me, and before I had time to react, went directly up on it’s side, to vertically embrace my bare legs with the center of it’s belly, & move from my shin’s upwards and then peel off my thighs & stomach!!!With awe & wonderment, I started laughing at the oh so unexpected event , the feeling of the ray’s belly, & the awareness, that it was so VERY large, even for a youngster…Fabulous !~ I am truly so blessed,to have many extraordinary memories to treasure & relive ~ time and again…
