This is a rare matching set of 6 hand painted lithophan porcelain cameo sake cups.The third picture shows the cup rotated to see the whole dragon.Lithophane is a process where with raised impressions it creates a vague picture on the porcelain, which is usually eggshell thin. Lithophane is from the Greek litho meaning 'light in stone' and quite popular with the Chinese from the 15th century on. Each of the sake cups have this geisha which I think is the 'common' geisha usually found.DD2
