Fausto Santini First Collection Handbag, vintage 1971 amazing mint condition

Rare vintage 1971 Fausto Santini of Rome, Italy First Collection ( their first edition of handbags with the classic firm structured rounded handle). The entire outer bag is made of smooth black leather. Pre-owned showing signs of use, some scrapes on the outside corners, some makeup stains on the inside black cloth. Nothing serious. Very good condition for 50 years. 7.25” wide, 5.25” tall, 3.24” thick at bottom, tapering to 2” thick at top of bag (that’s the curved Midcentury Modern design here). Handle drop is 4”. Marked “FAUSTO SANTINI” on top of bag between the handles and inside the bag just below the zippered pocket, written on white cloth in black letters. Also on the inside “MADE IN ITALY” is stamped. Two steel snap closures, circular round snaps that snap closed quite securely. Fausto Santini is know for avant-garde elegant Minimalist design, and caters to a small sophisticated clientele base. Collectible and rare. Very, very rare actually, their debut collection of handbags.
