This collector's set of Lincoln Pennies presented from American Coin Treasures includes a penny for every year between 1909 and 2016, plus three additional designs from 2009. There are two spaces for a 2017 and 2018 penny in the folio (pennies not included). In 1909 the Lincoln Cent was introduced to honor the 100th Anniversary of Lincoln's birth. The obverse featured a portrait of Lincoln, while the reverse showed the denomination flanked by two ears of wheat. The coin's designer, Victor David Brenner added his initials to the reverse, creating a wave of criticism from the public. The mint Immediately removed the initials only to add them again in 1918. At that time, initials appeared in small letters at the truncation of the bust. This 110-piece coin set comes packaged in a 11-1/2 x 8-1/2 folio book along with a Certificate of Authenticity certifying that these are genuine United States coinage.
