Antique enamel Inlaid Brass Cloisonne trinket box with Floral Branch decoration on the lid and throughout the bottom. Gilded edges on the rim. Enamel-coated turquoise interior. Beautiful detail and intricate design. Great for rings, trinkets, or simply decorative. New in the box, never used. Original box included. It measures 1-3/4" W x 1-1/2" H.Cloisonné is an ancient technique for decorating metalwork objects. To create the decoration, the metal objects have silver or gold wires attached to them forming compartments. These compartments were then filled in with enamel powder and then fired. In antiquity, cloisonne was used for small items in the 14th century it spread to China where it was used for larger items and is still used today.
