Handmade Sterling silver emerald, peridot and moonstone cluster/dangle earrings. The stones are 4 mm, and the drop length is 2 5/8”.
The first known mines were in Egypt, and date back possibly as far as 4,000 BC, incredibly. Cleopatra was said to be hypnotized with the unique charm of this gemstone, and so adorned herself in the very finest Emeralds.
Best known for its lime-green color, the peridot receives its envious coloration from the composition of the mineral olivine. This is unlike many other gems, whose colors come from impurities. It’s one of the few gemstones that comes in a single color, too. However, peridot can vary in shade from yellow-green to olive to brown-green.
Rainbow Moonstone is a variety of Labradorite which has a shimmering or iridescent quality so similar to Moonstone that they are considered to be the same gemstone. Labradorite, Sunstone and Amazonite have very similar chemical compositions and are also types of feldspars.
